there us no sound with my Dell studio 540 desktop
I have just updated from Ubuntu 11 to Ubuntu 12.04 on my Dell studio 540 desktop which has an Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz × 2. I was happy with ubuntu 11 and only upgraded when I was informed my version 11 was no longer supported. Sound has never worked, either with ubuntu 11 or 12.04. Since this is a common desktop pc I expect many people out there know how the sound problem can be fixed - any advice would be appreciated.
